  • { LV30-45 } What armour between Centurion > Brigandine

I'm going to try and take my Warrior up to the 40s. Originally, WAR is sub for my DRK but I'm really getting into it now, (Great) Axe is crazy!

    For my question:
I'm currently wearing the Centurion gear, with the exception of the Royal Sqr. Gloves and Cuisses. In my mogsafe I have the other Royal gear and a Brigandine body armour.

What should I buy untill I can wear Brigandine at 45 ? Is the Silver Mail body armour the best choice, and should I be getting other parts instead of Royal ?

At my level, on Ramuh, there are a lot of Paladin and Ninjas with good equipment and most of them play their job well. So I might have to tank from time to time, but my role will probably be 2nd tank and damage dealer untill DRK & SAM start to hit harder { hehe }.

    Thanks, hope I made sense.

At 36-37 You can upgrade to silver chain (36) or iron scale bp (37). I used iron scale just because it look pretty and i thik chain is like a rubber suit.

At 40 upgrade to plate (tin can) or royal squire armor (body, legs). Get the IM helm (gundam/power ranger helm). The plate set model is the same as lizard armor, except that the texture is different. That's why i ended buying royal squire chain body.

On boots/gloves at 40, i still use lvl 30 gloves with +2 acc and upgrade the boots to plate.

At 45 upgrade your body to brigandine.

Looking back, maybe my question kind of answered itself, hehe. I was just a little confused with all the choices between 30-40.

I went with the Padded Armor at LV35 and the matching Cap. Still got the Ryl. Sqr. Gloves & Feet. I didn't get Iron subligar because.. it looks very sad indeed.

From here to 40 I think I will keep what I have, I pulled & tanked Nest Beetles without a problem for a few hours at lv38.

This is the gear that i used... ugliest damn levels of my life going from 40-50... <shudder>. Ugly, but very effective armor that squires/IM set combo... just don't look at yourself... might be a good time to go first person view.

Gained a few levels, still llike WAR a lot. I think I'm going to try and do G1. Also, I really like WAR/WHM when I'm solo for farming and weapon skilling.

Now at lv49 there is the Mithran Breastplate set and at lv50 the Iron Msk set. However, IMO the stats on these suck when compared to the Ryl Sqr / Brigandine combo.

Wait till lv55 for Royal Knight set ??
It seems to be a turbo charged Ryl Sqr set at first glance.

#edit : as DRK I could do it like that, but as WAR I am sometimes asked to tank and I don't want to be a MP leech.

I'd go Brigandine to 55 for your attacking role, and Mythril Breastplate if you need to tank. The Mythril breastplate is pretty cheap, so you can easily afford to just have both, and switch depending on which role you are playing in the party. I.M. Body just isn't worth it for the cost unless you just want that look. Only one more defense and VIT+1 over Mythril. Easily made up for by food/defender, etc.
